Regular medical check ups

One should make a habit of visiting his personal doctor for regular check ups. Many people usually harbor diseases in their bodies but they little realize that they are ailing because these diseases are hidden and they do not show signs until later stages. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that one is diagnosed for illness regularly. This helps to curb the infection early enough and one is also able to take preventive measures to prevent infections before they develop into a full fledged disease. Also one is able to get some advice from the doctor regarding various aspects of hygiene like what to eat at what time and also what to wear in which weather.
High personal hygiene

Maintaining one’s personal hygiene is crucial for one to maintain good health. One should ensure he regularly brushes his teeth. This helps in avoiding fungal and bacterial infections in the teeth. It also ensures good breath which is good for one’s health. Other hygienic practices include washing inner clothes and changing them often. Cutting nails so that there is no chance of dirt accumulating in them which may cause infections. Wearing warm clothes which make one comfortable and keep away cold. Also one should ensure he wears dry and warm pair of socks. This help in reducing the chances of fungal infections and even rotting of the feet.
Socializing

Engaging in social activities with the rest of society is very crucial for good health. When one engages in social he reduces his chances of getting stressed up which is not good for his health. One is able to share his experiences with other people and he is likely to get advice which will help him avoid stress and also improve on health. Also, there is a good feeling that comes when one engages in charitable activities for the sake of society. This gives one satisfaction and joy in his heart. It also helps one to relax and put away all the pressures which is good for ones health. Therefore, one should not waste an opportunity to get involved in social activities.
Reading Good Books

It is said that reading is food of the mind. Well I can not agree more on this because even the brain needs food and some exercise so that it can grow. An individual who reads more is open to opportunities and is more likely to improve his life by coming across ideas in books. Also when one reads, the reads gets some exercise, therefore it is able to think faster and coordinate other body parts well for it is more alert than that of an individual who does not read. Proper coordination of body organs is good for proper health and it also aids in their proper functioning and hence are able to carry out their duties well. Good books also inspire positive thinking.
Eating proper food

For one to have good health it is very imperative that he eats the right food ingredients. This does involve the following:
One should ensure that he takes food that is of a balanced diet. A meal that is a balanced diet consists of carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins. Because all these each have a role that they play in the proper health of an individual. Carbohydrates provide energy, proteins provide ingredients that help the body to manufacture new cells hence growth while vitamins help the body to fight against diseases, take an example of vitamin C which helps the body to fight rickets.
What kind of Exercises do you engage in?

Many people love running or doing aerobic dancing. However, for people with bad backs, weak knees and ankles, these exercises could be hazardous. Most people should not be running and they do not realize this until after the fact. A medical consultant agreed by saying, “Running is tough on the body, but it is not as bad as the jumping steps in high-speed aerobic dance. Swimming, bicycling and walking are much better.” For these reasons, the gentler exercises—walking for fitness and low-impact or nonimpact aerobics—are gaining popularity among the health-conscious population.
Regular Hand Washing

How often do you wash your hands? Well, regular washing of hands should not be limited to only when eating or after using the bathroom. Every time you enter the house after a long day’s work or after visiting the supermarket or your neighbor, wash your hands with soap and water and rinse them thoroughly. Regular washing of hands will ensure that any germs that have been passed on surfaces and by people do not get into the house. It is especially important to wash after using the toilet or before having a meal.
Eat Your Vegetables
Vegetables that have been boiled, peeled and then mashed are
encouraged, especially for children, according to the book, ‘How?
Facts for Life’. Small amounts of fruits, cereal and orange
juice are also good and build appetite for other tastes. When
eating raw, ensure that the vegetables and fruits are scrubbed
with a vegetable brush to remove dirt and pesticide residue. It
is recommended to eat at least five servings of fruits and
vegetables a day. Vegetables help to prevent such ailments as
heart disease and stroke and can be good for the overall health
of your body.
Are You dehydrated?

How much water should you have everyday? We all need water and
sooner or later our body will ask for it if we do not take the
initiative. But did you know that by the time you get thirsty,
your body is already dehydrated? Yes, you should not wait to get
thirsty, to get a glass of water. To ensure that your body
always has the right amount of water, take 8 eight glasses of
water everyday. To make it a bit tastier, put some lemon into it.
Avoid sugary foods or sugary drinks as this leads to more
dehydration. Enough water will leave your skin soft and supple
and your body will cleanse itself of impurities leaving you
feeling fresh and lively all day.
Are You Having enough Sleep?
How many hours of sleep do you have? How many are required to maintain good health? While controversy exists as to the amount of sleep needed, most experts come to about 8 hours of sleep per night. Sleep is as important as having a balanced diet. If you don’t get enough sleep per night, you have a higher chance of getting diabetes, heart disease and a host of other ailments. To get enough undisturbed sleep, ensure the room is quiet and cool. If you live in a noisy neighborhood, like near an airport, have a fan so that the humming sound from the fan can sooth you to sleep and block outside noise. Sleep is crucial and having your sleep
should be one of your priorities.
