Taking of sleeping pills

If one finds that he is having a problem with sleeping, then he should take sleeping pills. As a matter of fact sleep is very critical to ones’ overall well being. I can not over emphasize on the importance of sleep. However, one should ensure that he does not take a lot of sleeping pills to the point of causing harm to his body. He should make sure that he does not take them for more than three in a row- as the old saying goes too much of something is poisonous. Therefore, value yourself and give yourself enough sleep.
Keep away from computers for long

One should just walk away from his computer at least once every two hours and then just take a step outside. This is because the screen of a computer emits some radiations which are detrimental to ones’ eyesight. When one sits on the computer screen for quite some time, he subjects himself to these radiations which will impair his health i.e. .vision. Another precaution may be one could take if his work entails using a computer for a long time is to wear protective glasses. These will protect the light of the computer screen from coming into direct contact with his eyes thus effecting the functioning of the iris.
Taking of the Vitamin E Supplement

One should always take the Vitamin E Supplement even if he thinks he does not need it. According to some research that was done recently, there is a conclusion that antioxidants such as vitamin E may indeed provide some protection against free radicals which do contribute to diseases for example, cancer and even arthritis. The exact RDA’s are still in contention but it is very advisable for one to take 400 International Units on a daily basis. Vitamin E itself is also quite good as it prevents an individual from scurvy which is quite a menace. Heed the experts’ advice and live.
Taking time-off

The body just like any other machine needs rest so as it can refresh itself and function properly. For one to maintain good health it is important that he takes some time off his duty so that he can enable body cells to refresh themselves. Taking time off can be done at regular intervals during normal working or even one can take an off for some days just to relax and refresh his mind. This helps the brain to get new energy to coordinate other body parts for proper functioning. The heart will get more energy to pump fresh blood to various body parts which direly need it.
Taking of some special foods

Recent research has shown that eating the products of soy has helped protect Asian women against some cancer types. Scientists at the Vanderbilt University and the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii did conduct a study of 120 Asian women. Results produced some tangible evidence that a long-term diet which is rich in soy can be linked successfully to a reduced risk of breast cancer – the risk reduces to as much as a 50 percent in some particular cases – according to the research which was presented in Honolulu.
The soybean is used in foods as well as beverages. It is low in cholesterol and high in isoflavones, its benefits are quite handsome.
Avoiding Excessive Drinking

While recent studies do show that a glass of wine or just one drink a day for ladies and two for men can help protect one against heart diseases, taking more than that can cause many other health problems such as kidney and liver disease as well as cancer. This is because these alcoholic drinks usually have some substances that are harmful to the body. Also, when one takes a lot of these drinks he loses his appetite. If he does not eat, he becomes weak and the body enzymes start digesting these substances as they look for food. In the long run, they might cause one to get stomach ulcers.

Wearing of Seat Belts
Statistics taken do show that seat belts can add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Well, this may seem very straight forward but many do not follow it. In a busy highway there is usually dust and smoke as a result of traffic. If one wears a seatbelt, he reduces the chances of inhaling these toxic fumes. This is because he does not sway in the vehicle. Also, one reduces the chances of getting hut and sustaining injuries incase a car breaks suddenly or even it takes a sharp turn. Therefore people should make a habit wearing their seatbelts.
Protection from Pollution

If one can not live in an environment which is smog-free, at least one should try as much as possible to avoid high traffic areas, smoke-filled rooms, breathing in highway fumes as well as exercising near busy thoroughfares. One should exercise outside when the smog rating is quite low. One should exercise indoors in air conditioning when the air quality is good. Planting lots of shrubbery in one’s yard improves the air quality in ones’ environment. It acts as a deterrent from pollution and dirt from the street. Pollutants get into ones’ eyes and the mouth, and the nose and the lungs as does smoke. This is the tune daily. One should give up just one cigarette and the next one.
Avoid Smoking

Definitely cigarette smoking is very harmful to one’s health. Ever since the 1960,s when the Surgeon General did announce that smoking was harmful to ones health, many people have been reducing their consumption of tobacco products which kill. Just recently, there has been a tremendous increase in the consumption of tobacco among the adolescents and teens. Well, tobacco has been found to contain harmful substances like nicotine which damage some body organs like the liver and the lungs. Continuous consumption of this substance can cause some serious diseases like cancer which as everyone knows can not be easily treated. It also causes malfunctioning of the brain cells a condition which is very dangerous.
